Barron Trump, the youngest son of U.S. President Donald Trump, contacted British police after witnessing the alleged assault of a female friend in London during a video call on January 18, 2025, it was revealed Thursday during the trial against the defendant in the British capital.
The 19-year-old told investigators that, after seeing the situation via his phone – after the alleged assailant answered his call – he asked two friends to call 999 from the U.S. to alert the British Police.

In a post sent later, he described that what he saw was “very brief but evident,” as the camera showed the victim – whom he met online – being beaten for a few seconds before the defendant hung up the call.
Matvei Rumiantsev, 22, a Russian national, is charged with assault, assault occasioning bodily harm, intentional strangulation, perverting the course of justice and two counts of rape alleged to have occurred between November 2024 and January 2025.
He denies the charges and claims the encounter with the woman, whom he had known for some time and with whom he says he had been drinking that night, was consensual, according to TMZ.
During his testimony today, Rumiantsev claimed that the victim, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was “completely hysterical, crying and screaming” – according to him, from drinking too much – when, without quite knowing why, he answered the video call from Trump’s son, Barron Trump.
At that point, he focused the camera on the girl to make her realize that her attitude was “unreasonable” and to maybe “not behave that way in front of someone else,” he recounted.
At another point in the trial, which will continue in the coming days, Rumiantsev told the court that he learned in October 2024 of the victim’s friendship with Barron Trump and had been “disturbed” by her messages with him.
