Argentine singer Cazzu will debut as an actress in ‘Risa y la cabina del viento’, a film directed by her compatriot Juan Cabral that will be released on April 16 in theaters in the South American country after winning awards at international festivals.
The film, also starring Diego Peretti, Joaquín Furriel and Elena Romero, tells the story of a 10-year-old girl who discovers a public telephone that allows her to communicate with deceased people.
In exchange for helping them resolve unfinished business in the world of the living, the protagonist seeks the chance to speak one last time with her father.
The film is the feature debut of Julieta Emilia Cazzuchelli, known as Cazzu, an Argentine singer, rapper and songwriter recognized as one of the most influential figures in Latin trap and urban music, who gained international fame thanks to songs such as ‘Loca’ and ‘Toda’.

Shot in the southern province of Tierra del Fuego, the film also features performances by Graciela Borges, Fabián Casas, Silvina Sabater and Gustavo Garzón, and original music by the Argentine band Babasónicos.
Risa y la cabina del viento’, a production of the Argentine companies Industria del Milagro and Labhouse, won the award for Best Young Film at the Stockholm International Film Festival Junior, in Sweden, and was distinguished as Best Film and Best Director at the Mar del Plata International Film Festival.
It also received the Audience Award at the La Fiesta del Cine Festival in France.
Cabral, recognized for his work in film and advertising, made his feature directorial debut with ‘Two/One’, premiering in 2020 at the Tribeca Film Festival and starring Boyd Holbrook and Zhu Zhu, reported Agencia EFE.
