Singer and businesswoman Chiquis Rivera begins a new artistic and personal stage with the release of her latest album, Flores en el alma, a deeply intimate work that marks her musical and emotional transformation.
Through a fusion of genres that combines regional rhythms, cumbia, R&B and experimental dyes, the artist shares a message of self-knowledge, healing and inner strength, in what she describes as a “medicine music” project.
“I had to make this big turn, because my soul wanted to sing different songs, songs of light,” expressed the singer in an interview with People en Español. “It’s medicine music, very different from what I’ve done before. It’s not regional Mexican music, it’s folk pop.”

Chiquis Rivera y sus Flores en el Alma: An Album Born of Rebirth
At 40 years old, Chiquis reveals that this album is the result of a deep process of introspection and growth. After going through one of the most painful moments of her life -the loss of her baby in 2023-, the artist decided to take some time to reconnect with herself, reflect and transform her pain into art.
“Flores en el alma is born from a rebirth, from a fall, from living difficult moments last year,” she confessed. “Something changed in me.” Her words, charged with serenity and gratitude, reflect a stage of emotional maturity and acceptance. “I feel free, fulfilled, I feel like I’m flying,” she added smiling, evidencing the peace she has found through the creation of this project.
Each song on the album represents a stage in her personal history. But there is one that, according to the artist herself, defines her completely: “Fénix”, the album’s second single. “It represents this new stage in which I rose from the ashes, as many of you will understand me,” she declared excitedly.
In this new project, Chiquis breaks with labels and lets her most honest side flow. She explains that the songs were born first as personal poems, written in moments of loneliness, vulnerability and also hope. “They are personal lyrics that started as poems. Each song is extremely intimate. Everything, from the photos to the titles, is full of meaning,” he explained.

The singer, known for her hits within the regional Mexican genre, now opts for a more experimental sonority, loaded with symbolism and spiritual messages. The album also has a structured concept that guides the listener on an emotional journey: it opens with a prayer and concludes with a guided meditation, reflecting the importance Chiquis gives to balance and inner connection.
With Flores en el alma, the eldest daughter of the late Jenni Rivera seeks to convey a universal message: pain can also be a path to strength. “Suffering transformed me,” she has acknowledged in different interviews. “Now I understand that every fall has a purpose. This album is a tribute to that evolution”.
Her message resonates with thousands of followers who have seen in her an example of resilience and authenticity. Chiquis shows herself to be more vulnerable, but also more powerful. “I have learned to breathe, to stop, to enjoy the present. This album represents that: the calm after the storm”.
Flores en el alma marks a turning point in Chiquis’ career, consolidating her as an artist capable of reinventing herself without losing her essence. Beyond genres and labels, the album is an open letter to the soul, a declaration of emotional and spiritual independence.
“My mission now is to share light, hope and love,” the artist concluded. “I want my music to heal, to accompany, to embrace. Because that’s what it’s all about: to flourish, even after pain.”
