Mexican singer Christian Nodal valued in Bogota the nomination he received for the Latin Grammy in the category of best ranchera/mariachi music album with the production ‘¿Quién + Como Yo?’, to which he said he put “a lot of love”.

“I’ve had two albums that have been complicated for me to qualify. Finally ‘¿Quién + Como Yo?’, which is an album that took a lot of time, love and hours,” said Nodal at a press conference in the Colombian capital, where he will perform on Saturday as part of the ‘Pa’l cora’ tour.

Nodal, happy with his Grammy nomination

The Mexican artist competes in this category with the albums ‘Alma De Reyna 30 Aniversario’, by Mariachi Reyna De Los Angeles, and ‘Mi suerte es ser mexicano’, by Pepe Aguilar.

In this sense, Nodal assured that regardless of who wins, he will be happy because he is nominated.

‘¿Quién + como yo?’ includes collaborations with artists such as Alfredo Oliva and Netón Vega, with the songs ‘Se vienen días tristes’ and ‘EBVSY’, respectively.

This production, in his opinion, differs from his previous albums because “I had not had the opportunity to work with so many different people”.

“And, after an album that mixed mariachi with genres such as salsa or bachata, ‘¿Quién + como yo’ “is aimed at traditional audiences.”

Nodal was the first Mexican artist to surpass 20 million global listeners on Spotify and the video for ‘Adiós amor’ made him the first regional Mexican solo artist to enter YouTube’s Billion Views Club.

In addition, with 13 songs at number one, he holds the all-time record in Billboard’s Regional Mexican Airplay chart.

He was also named number one Regional Mexican artist of all time on Apple Music, where ‘Adiós amor’ is also the most played song of the genre.

Concert in Bogota

The Mexican artist will perform on Saturday, September 20 in Bogota, where he will give a concert at the Coliseo Med Plus in ‘360’ format for the first time in Colombia.

“I want to make it a night for the heart, a night to feel love, to feel the heartbreak, to scream, dance, cry, laugh and have a great time,” said the artist, who added that the show is inspired by a Mexican palenque.

In this sense, Nodal explained: “It’s like a bullring, but smaller. You are surrounded by your entire audience and when people sing, people chant, it’s a great feeling, unrepeatable”.

During the concert, which will feature the invitation of artists such as the vallenato group Binomio de Oro or the collective Mujeres a la plancha, Nodal will perform some of his greatest hits such as ‘De los Besos que te Di’ or ‘No te contaron’ along with new songs like ‘AMÉ’ or ‘El Amigo’.
