Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum emphatically denied any possibility of a U.S. military intervention in her country.
His statement follows a New York Times report that revealed that former President Donald Trump signed a secret executive order authorizing the Pentagon to use military force abroad against drug cartels labeled as terrorist organizations.
Claudia Sheinbaum talks about Trump’s plan

Sheinbaum assured during her morning conference: “The United States is not going to come to Mexico with the military. We cooperate, we collaborate, but there is not going to be an invasion. That is ruled out. Absolutely ruled out.”
He explained that the Mexican government was notified of the executive order, but that it does not contemplate military operations in Mexican territory.
He stressed that any cooperation will be within the legal framework and under full sovereignty.
Diplomatic pressure and firm rejection of U.S. measure

Sheinbaum confirmed that Trump pressured her by telephone to allow U.S. troops in Mexico, a request she rejected because “there was no need.”
He also countered the accusation that the rejection was due to “fear” of the cartels, calling that statement offensive and reiterating his desire for diplomatic, not media, communication.
“We were informed that this executive order was coming and that it had nothing to do with the participation of any military or any (U.S.) institution in our territory,” he assured.
Defense of Mexican autonomy

Sheinbaum’s message reinforces that Mexico will defend its autonomy even in the face of political and military pressure, a key value for the Latino community that understands the importance of mutual respect.
It sums up the approach that many U.S. Hispanics value-effective collaboration without ceding authority or national dignity.
Given that many Hispanics live in communities affected by opioid trafficking, this type of diplomacy shows how governments can address the problem while maintaining the rule of law.

Rejection of the measure
Claudia Sheinbaum has flatly rejected any form of US military intervention in Mexico, in response to an alleged executive order authorizing the Pentagon to attack cartels from abroad.
He assures that the notification existed, but it does not correspond to an authorization to operate militarily in Mexican territory.
His stance emphasizes the defense of sovereignty, bilateral cooperation without subordination, and the protection of national dignity-despite tensions with the Trump administration.
