Club América reconfirms in 2026 that it is the most talked-about team in Liga MX. According to Mitofsky’s most recent national survey, based on 1,200 interviews, the Águilas remain the club with the largest number of fans in Mexico… but also the most disliked.

For the Hispanic community that lives in the United States and follows Mexican soccer closely, this data reflects why America continues to set the sports agenda at home and abroad.

According to Mitofsky’s 2026 survey, 21.1% of those surveyed named Club América as their favorite team.

Although it represents a drop of 4.9 percentage points from the previous year, the Eagles maintain a clear advantage over the rest.

Chivas comes in second with 16.7%, followed by Cruz Azul with 12%.

In fourth place are Pumas with 7.1 %, while the big surprise in the Top 5 is Toluca, with 6.1 %, displacing the Monterrey-based clubs.

Further down the list are Monterrey with 4.2 % and Tigres with 3.6 %.

It is confirmed that the so-called “big four” continue to dominate national preference.

The same study reveals that Club America also leads in rejection in 2026.

A total of 40.6 % of those surveyed indicated that he was the team they most disapproved of, a figure that even increased 3.4 points with respect to the previous survey.

In second place is Chivas with 13.6 %, followed by Cruz Azul with 7.2 %.

Further behind are Toluca (1.6 %) and Atlas (1.5 %).

This phenomenon explains why América is considered the most polarizing club in Mexican soccer: it generates extreme passion in both directions.

Mitofsky also presented the “total interest” indicator, which sums preference and rejection.

Here, America once again leads with 61.7%, despite a slight annual decline.

Chivas ranks second with 30.3 %, while Cruz Azul reaches 19.2 %.

Toluca stands out with significant growth in this indicator, consolidating its recent prominence.

For Hispanic fans in the U.S., these numbers reflect a clear reality: every clásico, every liguilla and every social media discussion revolves around Club América.
