Cruz Azul beats Atlas 2-0 and wins its first victory

Argentine coach Nicolás Larcamón’s Cruz Azul achieved its first win in the Mexican Clausura tournament on Wednesday with a 2-0 victory over Atlas.

Uruguay’s Gabriel Fernández and Argentina’s José Paradela scored for the Azules. Cruz Azul was superior in the first half over an Atlas team that showed difficulties in defense.

Paradela added to the lead in the 28th minute when he took a free kick under the watchful eye of Colombian goalkeeper Camilo Vargas.
