Daddy Yankee’s ex-wife, Mireddys González, filed a new lawsuit Monday to claim $50 million from the artist in the Federal Court of San Juan, Puerto Rico, and accused the singer of creating a plan to breach the agreement reached in October.

According to the document, the corporations El Cartel Records and Los Cangris, Inc. “approved and executed” in December 2024 resolutions declaring $100 million in dividends between Gonzalez and Ramon Luis Ayala Rodriguez, the singer’s first name.

“The resolutions specified that the funds be divided equally between the two shareholders, with $50 million to be deposited in the plaintiff’s personal account at Oriental Bank and $50 million in Ayala’s personal account at Oriental Bank,” the court text states.

The lawsuit stated that “less than 24 hours after the dividend transfers were settled and fully credited to plaintiff’s personal account at Oriental Bank,” the $50 million “was reversed and wiped out.”

According to the complaint filed, the withdrawal of the funds was the product of “a coordinated plan between Ayala and FirstBank to deprive the plaintiff of $50 million in corporate dividends to which she was legally entitled.

Therefore, First Bank and Oriental Bank were also included among the co-defendants.

“It constitutes a binding judicial admission that Ayala instructed, pressured, influenced or otherwise caused FirstBank to reverse plaintiff’s funds and that the bank complied with his demands despite his total lack of signature authority, corporate authority or legal capacity to alter or cancel any corporate transaction,” the lawsuit noted.

Therefore, Gonzalez requested the immediate restitution of the US$50 million, compensatory and statutory damages, injunctions against future interference, a judicial declaration that the reversion was illegal, unauthorized and contrary to law, and the joint and several liability of banks and insurers.

The former couple’s legal representatives reached an agreement on October 10 so that the famous urban artist can use his professional trademarks, including his stage name and pseudonyms, such as the acronym DY, which he has been using lately after announcing his musical retirement.

The settlement is the latest chapter in Daddy Yankee and his ex-wife’s legal and business dispute since federal judge Silvia Carreño ordered Gonzalez to turn over electronic devices containing emails and files that were originally deleted from the El Cartel Records corporation on August 14.

The artist sued his ex-wife and ex-sister-in-law Ayeisha González for allegedly destroying files of his corporations El Cartel Records and Los Cangris, Inc.

The corporate dispute began after in December 2024 the Gonzalez sisters made transfers totaling $100 million from the corporate bank accounts to each party’s personal accounts without Daddy Yankee’s knowledge or authorization.

The couple’s separation was confirmed on those dates and the divorce was made official on February 19, reported Agencia EFE, after almost 30 years of marriage and two children together.
