Mexican driver Daniel Suarez starred in one of the most outstanding performances of the weekend in the NASCAR Cup Series 2026, finishing fifth at the Atlanta Motor Speedway, signing his first Top-5 of the season.

The competition, held at the 1.54-mile (2.47 km) oval in Hampton, Georgia, was extended beyond the scheduled time. Although originally scheduled for 260 laps, a red flag caused by a multiple collision forced to extend the race to 271 laps, in a day marked by 10 caution flags and constant on-track incidents.
