Music businessman Pepe Tajonar, known in the entertainment industry for having represented artists such as Danna Paola and Mario Bautista, was arrested and charged after being accused of his alleged participation in a millionaire fraud related to an event of singer Ricky Martin.
The news was revealed by entertainment journalist Gilberto Barrera, who informed that the representative is facing legal problems derived from a concert of the Puerto Rican artist that was scheduled to take place in the city of Puebla, but that finally never took place.
According to the information disseminated by Barrera through his social networks and media specialized in show business, Tajonar was arrested last Friday, October 3, just the day he was to appear before the judicial authorities to account for the case.
“He currently has Mario Bautista’s career in his hands. I am in a position to confirm that Tajonar was arrested for having committed fraud with an event, apparently or allegedly, around a Ricky Martin presentation”, stated the journalist.
The communicator added that, after his arrest, the businessman spent the weekend in the prison, where he remained at the disposal of the corresponding authorities.
“Tajonar was detained and spent the weekend in the prison,” Barrera said, without offering further details about the specific place of his detention or the amount of the alleged fraud.
So far, neither the businessman nor his legal representatives have issued an official statement regarding the judicial process or his current situation. However, it is known that the case is still under investigation by the Attorney General’s Office.
Danna and Mario Bautista’s ex-manager swindles Ricky Martin

The legal conflict that Pepe Tajonar faces today dates back to 2019, when singer Ricky Martin’s team sued him for breach of contract in connection with his presentation at the Zacatecas National Fair (Fenaza).
According to reports at the time, the Mexican representative had not settled the payments corresponding to the participation of the Puerto Rican artist, which led Ricky Martin’s team to take legal action. From that moment on, Tajonar’s name began to be linked to alleged financial irregularities in the organization of shows.
Although the controversy had been kept out of the media spotlight for the past few years, the businessman’s recent arrest revived the case and brought his professional activities, as well as his ties to well-known Latin music artists, back into the public eye.
Pepe Tajonar has been, for more than two decades, one of the most active promoters and managers of entertainment in Mexico. His name is associated with the careers of artists such as Danna Paola, whom he represented during her international consolidation stage, and Mario Bautista, with whom he continues to work today.
In addition to his work as an artistic representative, Tajonar has been involved in the production and promotion of concerts and festivals in different states of the country, which has made him a recurring figure in the music industry. However, this trajectory is now overshadowed by the accusations against him, which could lead to significant legal consequences.
The indictment implies that the judge considered that there are sufficient elements to fully investigate Tajonar’s responsibility in the alleged fraud. However, his guilt has not yet been determined and a sentence has not yet been issued.
If the allegations are confirmed, the businessman could face financial penalties and imprisonment, depending on the magnitude of the damage caused and the type of contract that has been breached.
In the meantime, the authorities are keeping confidential about the progress of the case and the amounts involved, although sources close to the process indicate that the fraud could amount to several million pesos.
Both Ricky Martin and the artists currently represented by Tajonar, including Mario Bautista, have remained publicly silent regarding the arrest. None of them have made any official statements, although the issue has caused a stir in Mexican entertainment circles.
For now, Pepe Tajonar’s professional future remains uncertain. His case adds to a series of recent controversies in the music industry, where contractual and financial conflicts have highlighted the complex relationship between artists, promoters and managers.
