Tension in the Strait of Hormuz has reached boiling point. This Monday, President Donald Trump issued one of his starkest warnings to date via Truth Social, assuring that if Iran dares to block the flow of oil, Washington’s response will be “twenty times stronger” than seen so far.
“Death, fire and fury will reign over them,” the president sentenced, raising the tone just as the Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed to have attacked an oil tanker over the weekend and declared the passage closed to commercial traffic.
Promises to hit “twenty times harder

“If Iran does anything that stops the flow of oil in the Strait of Hormuz, it will be hit by the United States TWENTY TIMES STRONGER than it has been so far,” Trump stated on his Truth Social account.
The Republican added in his threat that “death, fire and fury will reign over them, but I hope and pray that doesn’t happen.”
Trump’s remarks come after the Iranian Revolutionary Guard claimed it attacked an oil tanker in the Strait of Hormuz over the weekend, saying the passage is closed to traffic due to the escalating conflict.
The Strait of Hormuz: The Lungs of the World
Donald Trump: “I’m not going to allow a terrorist regime to hold the world hostage and try to stop the world’s oil supply. If Iran does this, we’re going to attack them a lot more. (…) The Strait of Hormuz is going to be safe, we have the best equipment in the world.”… pic.twitter.com/8KYUQ9z91x

It is not just any fight. Twenty percent of the world’s oil transits through this strait, and any closure means a direct blow to the global economy.
To mark territory, the United States sent the colossal aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford to the region, a move the Iranians have responded to with taunts, claiming that U.S. ships are kept 1,000 kilometers away for fear of their drones.
Confusion reigns in the White House.
While Trump declared early Monday that the war was “practically over,” he changed his tune in the afternoon, asserting that he doesn’t know “how far they might go.”
He even revealed that he is evaluating a drastic measure: taking full control of the strait.
For its part, Iran is playing its diplomatic (and military) cards, offering “free passage” to neighboring countries on a very clear condition: expel the U.S. and Israeli ambassadors from their territories.
With the price of crude oil hanging in the balance and threats of massive attacks on the table, the world is holding its breath for what appears to be the most dangerous stage of Operation Epic Fury.
