Figure skater Donovan Carrillo continues to consolidate his position as one of the most important figures in Mexican sports at the international level. Ahead of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, to be held in Milan-Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, the athlete from Zapopan, Jalisco, was designated as flag bearer of the Mexican delegation, in a moment full of symbolism and emotion.
The ceremony took place during the morning conference on January 12, where Mexico’s President Claudia Sheinbaum presented the national flag to Carrillo and skier Sarah Schleper, who will carry the national flag during the opening ceremony of the winter competition.
