Elvis Crespo to be honored with Billboard Hall of Fame Award

Elvis Crespo will be recognized with the Billboard Hall of Fame Award during the Billboard Latin Music Awards 2025, to be held on October 23rd in Miami.

The artist will also take the stage with a special presentation celebrating his career and legacy.

Crespo will perform with Dominican Ebenezer Guerra, legendary merenguero Toño Rosario and Dominican urban artist La Insuperable, in a fusion of tradition, innovation and merengue.

“Receiving the Billboard Hall of Fame Award is one of the greatest honors of my career,” said Elvis Crespo.

“This award is not just for me, it’s for merengue, for Puerto Rico and for every fan who has danced and celebrated life with my music,” he added in a statement from Telemundo and Billboard.

The artist said that sharing this moment on the Billboard stage is truly unforgettable.

The Billboard Hall of Fame Award recognizes artists whose career and influence transcend musical performance and achieve global impact.

Previous winners include José José, Vicente Fernández, Rocío Dúrcal, Marco Antonio Solís, Joan Sebastian and Marc Anthony.

Elvis Crespo is considered a key figure in the international projection of merengue since the release of his hit song “Suavemente”, which has been used in campaigns, movies and social networks, according to the press release.

He has also collaborated with artists such as Steve Aoki, Daddy Yankee, Deorro and Ivy Queen, taking his music to international festival stages such as Tomorrowland, Ultra and Coachella.

Currently, Elvis Crespo is promoting his album ‘Poeta herío’, with collaborations with artists such as Arcángel, Víctor Manuelle, Toño Rosario, La Insuperable and Ebenezer Guerra, and continues his ‘Bodega Tour 2025: El Barrio Canta’, with presentations in Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and the United States.

The award is part of Billboard’s Latin Music Week, which will be held in Miami from October 20-24, reported Agencia EFE, with presentations, talks and music industry activities.
