The New York Knicks beat an eight-loss Golden State Warriors without Stephen Curry 110-107 at Madison Square Garden on Sunday after rallying from a 21-point deficit thanks to a huge performance by Jalen Brunson, who scored 30 points.
The Knicks star led the long-suffering Knicks to a hard-fought, close victory, doing it all. He scored 30 points on 9-of-20 shooting from the field, dished out 9 assists, grabbed 1 rebound, stole 2 balls and made 1 block.

Despite the Warriors’ loss – their fifth in a row – Madison Square Garden is a venue they’ve been particularly good at of late.
The Californian team has come away with a win from ‘the Mecca of basketball’ on ten of the last twelve occasions.
The Knicks faced a version of the Warriors that was severely hampered by injuries.
One of those was Curry, who turned 38 on Saturday. The Golden State star is still recovering from a right knee injury he suffered on Jan. 30.
In addition to their franchise player, the Warriors were also without Curry’s younger brother, Seth Curry, as well as Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, Moses Moody and Kristaps Porzingis.
Although the game began evenly matched in the opening moments, Golden State took a slight lead that was extended during the course of the first quarter, where Steve Kerr’s team led 21-35.
The Californians led New York by as many as 21 points in the second quarter, led by Quinten Post in particular.
The Dutch center scored a career-high 22 points – his previous high of 20 – and made four three-pointers, the most in the game.
However, the Knicks reacted and got back into the game and were 9 points down at halftime at 45-54 thanks to a very choral version of the team.
Players such as OG Anunoby (14 goals), Landry Shamet (10) or Jordan Clarkson (14) added double figures.
Although Golden State still maintained its lead after coming out of the locker room, the Knicks and the home crowd at Madison Square Garden were pressing harder and harder, while the Warriors players were running out of steam.
The epic comeback

With 15 minutes to go, the Knicks managed to tie the score 73-73 and, from that point on, Mike Brown’s team was able to compete very well, also boosted by a great performance by Dominican Karl-Anthony Towns, who had a double-double (17 points and 12 rebounds).
The Knicks grabbed the win in the final minutes with success from the three-point line and good defense.
Mike Brown’s men forced Golden State to forfeit in the final moments when the Californians had the possession to take the game into overtime.
The Warriors, despite the loss, delivered a remarkable performance, with 25 points from Brandin Podziemski, 20 from Gui Santos and 19 from Gary Payton II.
For New York, Brooklyn-born Puerto Rican Jose Alvarado contributed 4 points, 4 assists and 1 rebound in 15 minutes on the court.
The Knicks (44-25) remain third in the East behind the Pistons and Celtics and ahead of the Cavaliers, who are right on their heels.
Mike Brown’s team faces an immediate schedule that is kind, with matchups against the Pacers, Nets and Wizards, the last three franchises in the conference.
The Warriors (32-35) remain in the play-in zone without too many aspirations to climb positions or even with the fear of dropping out of the NBA’s postseason playoff spots.
The Californians face four more games against teams in the East.
