F1 2026: the key dates

The F1 2026 season will mark one of the most profound changes in the recent history of Formula 1. Before the lights go out at the first race of the year, the focus will be on the preseason, a key period where hierarchies will begin to be defined under a completely new technical regulation.

When do preseason tests start?

The official 2026 Formula 1 races will be organized in three blocks, distributed between Europe and the Middle East, with the following schedule:

January 26 to 30: Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, Spain

February 11 to 13: Sakhir International Circuit, Bahrain

February 18 to 20: Sakhir International Circuit, Bahrain

These test days will be decisive in analyzing the initial performance of the single-seaters under the 2026 technical regulations.

In addition to closely follow the return of Checo Perez and the first appearance of Cadillac on track in Formula 1.

The 2026 Formula 1 season will kick off once again with the Australian Grand Prix, which will open the championship calendar.

Start of track activities: Friday, March 6

Inaugural race: Sunday, March 8, at the Albert Park circuit.
