Actor George Clooney has responded to U.S. President Donald Trump, who mocked him and his family after obtaining French citizenship: “We have to make America great again. We will start in November”.
The actor has thus responded to Trump in a statement published in the Hollywood Reporter.
In November, the mid-term elections will be held in the United States, and the Democratic Party is the winner according to polls by YouGov or Big Data Poll cited by the New York Times.
The actor makes a play on words with the slogan ‘Make America Great Again’ -‘Hagamos América grande de nuevo’ in Spanish-, and which has been Trump’s slogan since the 2016 election and the acronym for MAGA.
Trump lashed out yesterday on the far-right Truth Social network against Cloone and his wife with a lengthy message, in which he referred to both as “two of the worst political prognosticators of all time.”
“They have officially become citizens of France, which unfortunately is in the midst of a serious crime problem due to its abysmal management of immigration, much like we had with sleepy Joe Biden,” President Trump says.
During the promotion of ‘Jay Kelly’, his new film, Clooney has spoken openly about America and about the public television network, CBS, which was at the center of his second film as director ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’ (‘Good Night, and Good Luck’).
“Bari Weiss – editor-in-chief of the channel – is dismantling CBS News right now. Do I care about the movie studios? Sure. It’s my business, but my primary loyalty is to my country,” Clooney said in an interview.
‘I am much more concerned about how we inform ourselves and how we are going to discern reality without a functioning press,’ he added, reported Agencia EFE.
