The NFL’ s New York Giants signed John Harbaugh as their new head coach for the next five seasons, NFL Network reported Thursday.
John Harbaugh, 63, will become one of the highest paid coaches in the league with an income of approximately $20 million per season. Between 2004 and 2015, the Giants had Tom Coughlin as head coach. Since then, Ben McAdoo, Pat Shurmur, Joe Judge and Brian Daboll, who was fired last November, have held that position.

Mike Kafka, who served as offensive coordinator, was in charge of the culmination of the regular campaign.
The New Yorkers accumulated four wins and 13 losses, the fifth worst record among the 32 NFL teams.
John Harbaugh, 63, spent 18 years at the helm of the Ravens, a team he joined in 2008 and led to victory in Super Bowl XLVII.
He also won two American Conference titles and six divisional titles; he was named coach of the year in 2019.
With Baltimore he accumulated 180 wins and 113 losses, in playoffs he won 13 and lost 11. His overall record is 193-124.

Last January 7, John Harbaugh was fired from the Ravens after finishing the 2025 regular season with a losing record of eight wins and nine losses that left them out of the playoffs.
His immediate departure made him one of the most coveted coaches in six of the nine teams looking for a new coach.
Among the teams with whom he had scheduled interviews for the coming week were:
Tennessee Titans, Atlanta Falcons and Miami Dolphins, but the Giants, whom he visited last Wednesday, would not let him go without signing a contract.
Throughout their history, which began in 1925, the New York Giants are one of the oldest and most successful franchises in the NFL.
They have won four Super Bowls, most recently in 2011.
John Harbaugh’s mission is to return the team to the status of a Lombardi Trophy contender.
