The family of Border Patrol Agent Isaiah Anthony Hodgson, who was found dead in his Riverside County home, has requested public assistance to cover his funeral expenses.

Isaiah Hodgson became a controversial figure within the Border Patrol for his participation in ICE operations in California.

Particularly in raids in the Los Angeles and Long Beach area, which were heavily criticized by civil rights organizations for their violent nature and questionable arrests.

Hodgson was linked to a violent raid at a Pico Rivera Walmart, where agents detained a U.S. citizen without evidence of assault, according to security video.

The detainee was released after it was proven that there was no physical attack, which his lawyers described as a disproportionate action.

It should be recalled that Isaiah Hodgson was facing serious charges following an incident in Long Beach on July 7, 2025.

On that occasion, while off duty and allegedly under the influence of alcohol, he allegedly entered a women’s restroom in a restaurant with a firearm.

He subsequently resisted arrest and injured a police officer.

The charges against him include three felony counts of resisting an officer, assault on a public officer, and several firearms offenses.

If found guilty, he would have faced up to seven years in prison.

Shocked by the death and faced with the burden of funeral costs, his family – through the GoFundMe platform – launched a campaign entitled “Help Honor Isaiah Hodgson’s Memory”.

So far, more than $8,000 has been raised, out of a goal of $11,000.

In the description, they note that Isaiah “was a great man, brother, uncle and son, whose presence brightened wherever he was,” and ask for help to pay for funeral services.

Isaiah Hodgson was part of the Border Patrol, but his death, which occurred just after facing legal proceedings and public outrage, has generated mixed feelings in the Latino community.

On the one hand, there is the perception of an agent whose conduct was questioned.

On the other, the cultural duty to honor a deceased person as a human being and family member.

In addition, the campaign has gathered donations from the community, making visible that, regardless of his legal situation, his death has opened a space of solidarity that transcends the institutional sphere.
