According to local police spokesmen, the shooting took place inside one of the apartments in the complex.
Lieutenant Eddie Rodriguez, police spokesman, confirmed to local media that the two victims were adults, and that the incident would be related to a case of domestic violence.
Although authorities have not publicly released the identities of the victims, they did confirm that a third person was taken to a hospital with gunshot wounds.
Its current status has not been specified.
The Police Department is keeping the area under guard while investigations continue.
Images released by local media show a large police deployment in the parking lot of the building.
In one of the recordings, paramedics are seen transferring an injured man on a stretcher to a Miami-Dade Rescue helicopter, suggesting that the victim had serious injuries.
So far, it has not been reported whether there are people in custody, nor have details been disclosed about the possible causes of the shooting.
The authorities have limited themselves to confirming that the case is “under active investigation”.
Hialeah, with an estimated population of more than 223,000, is one of the cities with the highest concentration of Hispanic residents in the United States, mostly Cuban Americans.
As a result, these types of events have a strong impact on the community, where many residents express concern about the increase in gun violence in areas previously considered safe.
The incident takes place in a national context marked by worrying figures.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about 47,000 people die each year in the U.S. from firearm-related injuries, including homicides, suicides and accidents.
In addition, in 2025, Florida has seen an increase in citizen concern following the passage of laws allowing firearms to be carried in public without prior permission, which has reignited the debate over gun control in the state.
This shooting is in addition to other recent events in South Florida, and highlights the need to reinforce security measures and surveillance in residential areas.
Local authorities have asked for the cooperation of anyone who can provide information about what happened.
