Influencer and host Poncho de Nigris ignited the conversation on social networks by revealing how much he is earning from Sergio Mayer as a participant of La Casa de los Famosos.
His statements came after the actor requested a leave of absence as a federal congressman for Morena to join the reality show of Telemundo’s reality show.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, Poncho assured that Mayer had directly negotiated his salary before confirming his entry to the program. “Sergio Mayer has just entered the house of celebrities and we already knew he was going to enter,” he commented, implying that his participation was an open secret within the media.
According to his version, the production had initially offered Mayer US$30,000 per week. However, De Nigris assured that he recommended him to ask for a higher amount, taking into account his trajectory and popularity.
“They offered me 35 thousand dollars and he said, ‘Sergio, they are offering me 30’. I told him: ‘Ask them for 35, man. Well, we’re already rich, man, and you already have your name and everything’. He’s the most famous one right now,” he laughed.
The statements quickly sparked speculation that Mayer would be receiving one of the highest salaries of the season.
Konan Big also participated in the discussion, and expressed his opinion that he could even be receiving more money than the rest of the contestants. According to his point of view, the fact that Mayer has requested a leave of absence from his public office to enter the program would imply a stronger negotiation.
“It seems to me that they are paying him more than everyone else. I’ll tell you why. Because in order for them to leave a deputation, he is supposed to be disrespecting them,” he commented, suggesting that the political decision would have raised the value of his participation.
