“The Atlas was created with American families in mind…and that includes Latinas,” said Volkswagen USA spokesman Mark Gillies in a recent interview with MotorTrend. And he’s not exaggerating. In a market saturated with midsize SUVs, the Volkswagen Atlas 2025 stands out for one reason: it offers real room for seven people, without compromising comfort or safety.

In a country where more than 20% of Latino households have five or more members, the question becomes crucial: is this the SUV our large families have been waiting for?

Space to spare

One of the strongest points of the Volkswagen Atlas is its interior.

With three rows of full-size seats, space for adults in the third row is one of the best in its class.

This is not common: many SUVs offer only limited space in the back, useful only for small children.

But the Atlas breaks that rule. According to Car and Driver, the 2025 model improves accessibility and ergonomics, even in the third row, thanks to wider rear doors and an easy folding mechanism in the second row.

In addition, the trunk offers 20.6 cubic feet of space with all rows up, and more than 96 with everything folded down.

These features have earned it the Top Safety Pick designation by the IIHS, a credential that does not go unnoticed among parents concerned about the safety of their children.

In terms of technology, it integrates a 12-inch touchscreen, wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB-C ports in all rows and wireless charging.

Perfect for long trips, for teenage children… or for multitasking dads.

What about the price, is it affordable?

The Volkswagen Atlas 2025 has a base price of $39,075, with better equipped versions reaching $52,000.

It’s not the cheapest SUV, but its value backs it up. Plus, it qualifies for several financing incentives, especially for first-time buyers or families with moderate credit history.

Mechanically, it includes a new 2.0-liter turbo engine with 269 horsepower, and optional all-wheel drive (4MOTION), ideal for families traveling or living in areas with snow or difficult roads.

Laura Sanchez, a mother of four in Texas, told us, “With the Atlas, I finally have room for my kids, my mom and groceries. And I don’t feel like I’m driving a huge van. It’s comfortable and safe.
