Jordi Fernández, coach of the Brooklyn Nets and the first Spanish-born coach to coach in the NBA, said Friday that being able to see his entire career until he reached the Nets bench in a documentary “excites” him, since sometimes “in the day to day one forgets the path”.

“Being able to see it was very special,” said the Catalan coach of the Brooklyn Nets in the week in which the New York franchise released a documentary that recounts all the steps of the coach from Badalona (Barcelona) to lead one of the thirty benches of the world’s biggest basketball league.

The documentary on Jordi Fernández, released by the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday, March 17, focuses on his professional basketball career.

In which figures such as Pau Gasol, Ricky Rubio, Anna Cruz, Juancho Hernangómez, Sergio Scariolo or Carles Duran participate.

This is not the first film about Jordi Fernández.

A few weeks ago, on February 28, the local media of Badalona, his hometown, in co-production with the Catalan television network, also broadcast a documentary about the roots of the now Brooklyn Nets coach.

Both documentaries, one in Catalan and the other in English, are entitled ‘From Badalona to Brooklyn’.

“I am very grateful for all the time you have spent in explaining my story.”

“When I see my whole journey, it makes me emotional and reminds me of very nice things.”

“They are both very well done, for me it is a source of pride that they have made these documentaries,” added Jordi Fernandez, coach of the Brooklyn Nets.

Jordi Fernandez also commented on the moment of Spanish players competing during the famous NCAA college March Madness.

“It’s very special what he represents for Spanish basketball.”

“Not only Aday Mara and Mario Saint-Supéry, who are seen a little bit more, but also the girls and other players who also have that visibility to be able to enter the draft,” he said.

“My opinion of all of them is good because I think I look at them in a very good light.”

“That they don’t look at the future and focus on what they are doing now, that the ‘March Madness’ is an incredible opportunity and I wish them the best for the future,” finished Jordi Fernandez, coach of the Brooklyn Nets.
