Former world boxing champion Julio Cesar Chavez reiterated this Monday his conviction in the innocence of his son, on probation after being arrested in the United States on charges of organized crime and arms trafficking.
“We are in a process, everything will be clarified. We know that my son is innocent”, affirmed Chavez.
“It was a triumph”: Chavez highlights his son

The most important Mexican boxer of all time with 107 wins, 87 of them consecutive, 6 losses and 2 draws, celebrated his son’s ability to stand up.
This after getting away from addictions and fighting last June 28 against youtuber Jake Paul, with whom he lost.
“Boxing is not easy, with getting in the ring against Jake Paul and going through the hell he went through for me was a triumph,” said the former world champion in the super featherweight, lightweight and super lightweight divisions.
Julio Cesar Chavez announced that his son, 39, is training in Tijuana with the purpose of fighting on December 13 and having three or four other fights before announcing his retirement.
According to the Mexican sport legend, Chavez Jr. still possesses the qualities and had the conditions to defeat Paul.
Prepares to be reborn in the ring

“It was for him to beat him, but in the first few rounds he didn’t throw punches. Then he put Paul in predicaments, but it was late. He is preparing himself, he knows what he has to do, reform.”
The President of the World Boxing Council, Mauricio Sulaiman, explained that Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is a good person and is ready to continue with his life.
“He’s going to fight on December 13, but we have to be down to earth, allow him to come back, be active and we’ll see what happens later on.”
“We have the opportunity to embrace him, welcome him back and he can return to his life in a normal way,” he said.
Julio César Chávez jr., with 54 wins, seven losses and one draw, saw his best moments in pugilism go by.
Of his last nine fights, he has lost five, partly due to his indiscipline and addictions.
