Karol G has surprised her fans with an innovative promotional strategy for her upcoming album, Tropicoqueta, by starring in a short film in the style of classic Mexican telenovelas.
This project features the participation of renowned actresses such as Anahí, Itatí Cantoral, Ninel Conde, Gaby Spanic and Azela Robinson, paying tribute to the melodramas that marked generations.

In the promotional video, Karol G plays a young girl in love with Ricky Martin, sparking a rivalry with Anahi’s character.
The scene culminates in a dramatic fight, including hair-pulling, evoking the intense confrontations typical of soap operas of the nineties.
In addition, Itatí Cantoral reprises her iconic line “¡Maldita lisiada!” from her character Soraya Montenegro in María la del Barrio, while Gaby Spanic and Azela Robinson recreate an iconic scene from La Usurpadora.
