The NASCAR Cup Series 2025 will go down as one of the most spectacular finishes in recent years. In a race full of spins, accidents, punctures and strategic decisions, Kyle Larson, driver of Hendrick Motorsports, won the title after winning the Championship 4, held at Phoenix Raceway.
Kyle Larson, who had already been champion in 2021, became a two-time NASCAR Cup champion, proving once again his mettle and talent in the most critical moments. His victory came after beating Denny Hamlin, William Byron and Chase Briscoe in a movie-like finish.
Denny Hamlin, the perennial contender

Everything pointed to Denny Hamlin finally breaking his curse and taking the championship.
He was the most solid driver of the season with six wins, and for much of the final race he seemed to have it under control.
Hamlin led most of the stages and maintained a steady pace until a problem at the pit stop – a hydraulic jack failure – relegated him to 11th place, forcing him to come back.
Although he managed to return to the first places, luck once again turned its back on him in the decisive moments.

Strategy, tires and chaos

Tires were the protagonist throughout the race, with multiple punctures affecting even the four contenders for the title.
When everything seemed to be decided in favor of Hamlin and Byron, a flat tire on the No. 24 car (Byron) with three laps to go changed the course of the championship.
The incident resulted in a yellow flag and an Overtime (restart with two final laps).
Kyle Larson, who had changed only two tires on his last stop, started from the pole position and made a perfect start on the outside, passing Hamlin to take the win and his second championship.
Briscoe and Byron, the other main players

William Byron and Chase Briscoe also had some great moments during the final.
Byron led for several stages and appeared to be in position to fight for the crown before his final flat tire.
Briscoe, on the other hand, survived a difficult race:
After dropping to 30th place due to an early incident, he managed to rebound with solid pace and finish among the front runners, showing the potential of Joe Gibbs Racing.
A finale worthy of NASCAR history

Kyle Larson’s victory in 2025 not only reaffirms his status as one of the best drivers of his generation.
It also represents one of the most dramatic and hotly contested finishes in modern NASCAR history.
For the U.S. Hispanic community, this edition of the NASCAR Cup was a reflection of the competitive spirit and excitement that surrounds motorsports.
Latino fans’ passion for the sport continues to grow, fueled by finishes like this one, where drama, strategy and adrenaline combine at every turn.
