Comedian Trevor Noah will host the gala for the last time, closing a multi-year run as master of ceremonies for music’s biggest event.
On this occasion, the ceremony will feature performances by Lady Gaga herself, as well as Justin Bieber, Bruno Mars and Sabrina Carpenter.
The 68th edition of these awards is marked by the power scale headed by the three favorites.
On the one hand, Californian rapper Kendrick Lamar leads the list with a total of nine nominations, including the queen categories, for his album ‘GNX’.
She is followed by Lady Gaga with seven nominations, marking her triumphant return to the “dark ages” with her ‘Mayhem’ project.
Meanwhile, Puerto Rican Bad Bunny accumulated six mentions and made history by being the first artist to compete in the three main categories (Album, Song and Record of the Year) with a project entirely in Spanish, for ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’ (I Should Have Thrown More Photos).
Hispanic representation will also be provided by Colombian singer Karol G, who has been confirmed as one of the gala’s presenters alongside figures such as Harry Styles and Charli XCX.
In addition, Spain’s Alejandro Sanz is nominated for Best Latin Pop Album, and Mexico’s Natalia Lafourcade, Carín León and Grupo Frontera in the regional categories.
