For a long time, NASCAR was seen as a sport dominated by white American drivers. But that is changing. Today, a new generation of Latino drivers is making its mark in America’s most followed motorsport.

Whether from Mexico, Colombia, Cuba or Puerto Rico, these athletes are accelerating into history. Here are 10 Latinos who are making a difference in NASCAR.

Daniel Suarez (Mexico)

Daniel Suárez is the pioneer. In 2016 he became the first Latino to win a NASCAR national championship, the Xfinity Series.

In 2022 he made history by winning in the premier series, NASCAR Cup Series, breaking barriers and opening doors.
