On Wednesday, the United States imposed financial sanctions on Venezuelan actress and DJ Jimena Araya, known as Rosita, for allegedly having a romantic relationship with Hector Rusthenford Guerrero, alias Niño Guerrero, leader of the Tren de Aragua criminal gang.
Araya is among the network of individuals sanctioned by the Treasury Department for allegedly providing “material support” to Tren de Aragua, an organization designated as a terrorist group by the Donald Trump Administration.
According to the Treasury, Araya is believed to be romantically involved with Niño Guerrero, whom he allegedly helped escape from Venezuela’s Tocorón prison in 2012.

The 42-year-old actress and model has 3.5 million followers on Instagram and works as a DJ in several nightclubs in Colombia. The Trump administration claims that part of the profits from her presentations are destined to the Aragua Train.
One of the clubs where he allegedly performed is Maiquetía VIP, in the south of Bogotá, owned by Eryk Landaeta, arrested by Colombian authorities in 2024 and sanctioned by the United States for using such parties to sell drugs and launder money.
Also sanctioned was Kenffersso Sevilla, alias El Flipper, arrested in Colombia last November and considered to be Niño Guerrero’s right-hand man. Other alleged members of the Aragua Train were also designated: Richard José Espinal, Noe Aponte, Asdrubal Escobar and Cheison Guerrero.

As a result of these sanctions, all property and assets of the designated individuals are blocked and transactions with them are prohibited.
The Aragua Train is a criminal organization that emerged from the Tocorón prison in the Venezuelan state of Aragua and has expanded its operations to several South American countries over the last decade, reported Agencia EFE.
