Live from Japan: Banda El Recodo prepares to release a new album

Banda El Recodo de Cruz Lizárraga, known as “La Madre de Todas las Bandas” (The Mother of All Bands), continues its mission to bring regional Mexican music to international audiences.

Following their successful performance at the Road to Latin America Festival in Tokyo, Japan in May 2024, the band announced the release of their new live album entitled “En Vivo Desde Japón”. This project captures the essence of their performances in the Asian country and reflects the warm reception of the Japanese audience.

On May 4, 2024, Banda El Recodo performed at the fifth edition of the Road to Latin America Festival, held at the Odaiba esplanade in Tokyo.

This event aims to promote cultural exchange between Japan and Latin American countries.

The band offered two concerts that day: the first at 1:00 p.m. and the second at 4:00 p.m., both with a remarkable attendance of Japanese and Latin American audiences.

They performed hits such as “La Quebradora”, “La Mejor de Todas” and “Acá Entre Nos”, making the audience dance and sing along to their songs.

Taking advantage of the energy and enthusiasm of the Japanese public, Banda El Recodo decided to record a live album during their performances in Tokyo.

During their stay in Japan, the band members took the opportunity to visit landmarks such as Mount Fuji and the Shibuya district in Tokyo.

In Shibuya, they gave an impromptu street performance of “El Corrido de Mazatlan”.

Although the performance attracted numerous passersby, the local police asked them to stop due to street performance regulations.
