On May 9, 2025, the well-known Mexican band Los Ángeles Azules was the victim of a robbery on the Mexico-Puebla highway.
The staff team was returning from a performance in Tabasco when they were stopped by a false checkpoint at kilometer 61 of the highway, in the direction of Mexico City.

During the incident, a Mercedes Benz van with license plates LF87217 of the State of Mexico was stolen, carrying musical instruments and audio equipment valued at approximately 8 million Mexican pesos.
On May 14, the Puebla State Attorney General’s Office reported that, after intelligence work and video surveillance analysis, it was able to locate the instruments and audio equipment on a dirt road in the community of San Rafael Tlanalapan, municipality of San Martin Texmelucan.
