Venezuelan urban singer Maisak has just released ‘Un Polvito +’ with Maluma, a song that, the emerging artist told EFE, mixes “spiteful” lyrics with a vallenato and reggaeton rhythm that has not been heard “for a long time”.

The song, produced by DJ MadMusick, musician Ily Wonder and producer Fenix The Producer, is characterized by having “the lexicon of young people, but with a feeling and with lyrics that are rich in content,” Maisak, who has 5.4 million monthly listeners on Spotify, said in an interview.

‘Un Polvito +’, which reached 20,000 plays on YouTube on its first day, also has “an underlying message” so that all the young people who are watching it “are motivated to do what they love,” explained the artist, 24 years old and author of hits such as ‘Se me olvida’ (2024) or ‘FDSR'(2024).

For Maisak, this release “means to consolidate more the vallenatico pa’ la disco” and, like his previous songs, “has a message of spite” because it talks about a couple that has just broken up.

“You’re going to cry, you’re going to bitch or you’re going to call that person,” said the singer, who believes that urban music is going through “a beautiful moment full of coastal flavor” thanks to “mentors like Maluma, J Balvin or Karol G.”

The music video for ‘Un Polvito +’ was filmed at Maluma’s nightclub in Medellin, ‘903’, and is directed by Padox for Royalty Films.

The release of the song coincides with a year of achievements for Maluma, who recently reached the number 1 spot on the Billboard Latin Airplay chart with the hit ‘Bronceador’.

He is also nominated for best urban song with ‘Cosas Pendientes’ and best Mexican regional music song thanks to the collaboration with Carin León ‘Si tú me vieras’.

Maisak, who launched his career in 2021 with ‘Solo Tú’ and rose to fame in 2024, when his collaboration with Feid ‘Se me olvida’ went viral on TikTok, met Maluma thanks to producers The Rudeboyz.

In a songwriting session for Maluma, Maisak wrote ‘El Reloj’ (2023), a track that has 4.48 million plays on YouTube.

The Venezuelan singer, who has lived in Colombia since he was two years old, assures that his music “has many roots from the coast”.

Maisak has done previous collaborations with renowned solo artists such as Jay Wheeler or Ryan Castro, with the songs ‘Descaro 2.0’ (2025) or ‘FDSR’ (2024), and with other artists he “listened to since he was a kid”.
