The Mexican National Team, which is preparing for next summer’s World Cup, will take on Iceland in a friendly on February 25 in Querétaro with a combination of established members of the national team and youngsters aspiring to establish themselves in the team.
On Thursday, the Mexican Soccer Federation released the list of 21 players, including several who are almost guaranteed to play in the World Cup, among them goalkeepers Luis Ángel Malagón and Raúl Rangel; defender Jesús Gallardo; midfielders Marcel Ruiz and Carlos Rodríguez; and forward Roberto Alvarado.
Promising Liga MX players look to convince Aguirre

Some promising players of good performance in Liga MX will wear the Mexican National Team jersey, with the purpose of showing a good performance against Iceland.
As well as gaining points in the eyes of coach Javier Aguirre to reach the World Cup.
These include goal scorer Armando González and defenders Richard Ledezma and Diego Campillo of Guadalajara and goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo of Santos Laguna.
Mexico, ranked 16th in the FIFA rankings, will play against Iceland, the 74th-ranked team in the world, with players from the local league.
This means a good opportunity for some of those who still have a chance of making it to the World Cup, obliged to give Aguirre arguments to keep them in the team.
