Michael Jackson’s song ‘Thriller’ ranked as the number 10 most played song on the Billboard Hot 100, making him the first artist to appear on the chart in six different decades.
According to Billboard, Jackson first reached the top 10 of the Hot 100 as a solo artist in November 1971 with his solo debut, ‘Got to Be There’.
The so-called King of Pop, who died in June 2009 has 30 top 10 hits, including 13 number 1s, and before ‘Thriller’ climbed the chart this year, the ‘Billie Jean’ singer had last been in the top 10 in 2018 as a guest artist for Drake’s ‘Don’t Matter to Me’.

The last artist to hold top 10 positions for five decades was Andy Williams, one of the best-known performers of the Christmas song ‘It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year’.
This week’s Hot 100 also brought good news for Taylor Swift whose track ‘The Fate of Ophelia’ took the number one spot on the chart for the fifth consecutive week.
While HUNTR/X’s ‘Golden’, from Netflix’s ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ , remained on the chart at No. 2 on the Hot 100, after eight weeks at No. 1 as of August, Agencia EFE reported.
