Mon Laferte swears her love to the newest version of herself: the ‘femme fatale’, at the premiere of her first Spotify Session, a presentation recorded in Mexico, which showcases five songs from her latest album to the rhythm of an all-female jazz ensemble and also serves as a prelude to the Chilean-Mexican singer’s upcoming tour in the country.
A month away from landing at the Foro GNP Seguros Mérida, in the southern state of Yucatán, Laferte debuts in the sessions of this digital platform dressed in red satin to embody the ‘femme fatale’ of lethal verses that the public met in March 2025, when she released ‘Otra noche de llorar’, the first of the 14 songs of the album of the same name.
With the visual direction of Mexican filmmaker Magaly Ugarte, who has also directed videos for Norwegian musician Erlend Øye, the composer manages to transform a location in Mexico City into a jazz universe similar to that of Billie Holiday singing ‘Strange fruit’ in the 1950s.
According to a statement shared by Spotify, every detail inspired by the ‘film noir’ aesthetic arranged on the blue and red-tinted stage was thought of by the ‘Tu falta de querer’ singer, who in addition to being a music lover is a renowned visual artist.
The same text shares that Laferte felt this session was “the perfect opportunity to do something different” in the performance of ‘Femme Fatale’, ‘Veracruz’, ‘1:30’, ‘Melancolía’ and ‘Otra Noche de Llorar’, the second most played song on the album.
“Being in this jazz universe allowed us to improvise and let the music breathe in a new way,” he noted.

This session, moreover, enriches the 42-year-old singer’s performative new stage, who went from playing the red-haired Sally Bowles in ‘Cabaret’, a classic Broadway musical, to the blonde ‘femme fatale’, a woman based on herself, free, chaotic and feared by men.
But never feared by women, as she is accompanied on this album by Argentina’s Nathy Peluso and her Mexican friends Natalia Lafourcade and Silvana Estrada.
This session also reflects that same feminine union, as each instrument is played by a Latin American woman.
“I liked it so much that it even made me want to take this band on tour,” she confessed about the possibility of integrating the four women of the Spotify Session to her tour in eight Latin American countries, in which Mexico is the destination with the most dates.
Mexico continues to be the main market for the five-time Latin Grammy winner, so it is expected that this will be the country that from today will lead the plays of the session, which is part of the celebrations of EQUAL, a regional project of the platform focused on promoting women in the music industry.
The ‘Femme Fatale’ tour will kick off on April 11 and will tour seven Mexican cities, reported Agencia EFE, and conclude on May 29 and 30 in Mexico City.
