The national director of Miss Universe in Thailand, Nawat Itsaragrisil, has filed a complaint against the winner of the 2025 edition of the contest, the Mexican Fatima Bosch, for alleged defamation, after the two starred in November in an argument that went viral on social networks.
Nawat, a media entrepreneur in Thailand, filed a complaint against Bosch last Nov. 12 at Watphrayakhrai police station, south of Bangkok, according to documents shared Wednesday on Miss Universe Thailand’s Facebook account.
Several media in Thailand and the neighboring Philippines have echoed the news, as well as through their networks people from Nawat’s close circle, who for the moment has not commented.

The Thai, in charge of organizing the pageant in which the Mexican was crowned last November 21 in Bangkok, assures that during his argument with Bosch earlier that month during a pageant activity -which was broadcast live on social networks- he never called her “stupid”, as she has claimed on several occasions.
The then Miss Universe queen, Denmark’s Victoria Kjaer, also left the room when the discussion took place and said Nawat’s behavior had been “very disrespectful.”
While Bosch has begun a tour in the United States as Miss Universe 2025, the Thai has promised, according to the Facebook post, further legal action if she uncovers more defamatory actions.
Was Nawat’s apology to Fatima Bosch, Miss Universe a fake?
“We request all media outlets to exercise caution in reporting on this matter and refrain from cooperating with or amplifying Ms. Fatima’s false accusations,” the brief states.
Despite all the controversy, Bosch and Nawat posed smiling together on several occasions once the Mexican was crowned in Bangkok.
Bosch, for her part, denounced on her Instagram account that she has received violent and hateful messages after being crowned Miss Universe 2025, amid accusations of alleged fraud.

“I will not back down, I will not hide and I will not ask permission to shine. To those who do believe in me, to those who embrace me with words of love and pride, THANK YOU. Your light sustains me. I will continue to stand up for women, I will continue to speak up for them,” said Bosch.
Her victory was accused of being fraudulent by the French-Lebanese pianist Omar Harfouch, who resigned from the jury, along with two other members, and threatened to take legal action against Miss Universe for alleged crimes such as “fraud, abuse of power, corruption, deceit, breach of contract, conflict of interest and moral and reputational damage”, reported Agencia EFE.
