The magazine People en Espanol confirmed that, as of tomorrow, Itatí Cantoral will become the new host of La Mesa Caliente. The announcement marks a new chapter for Telemundo’s afternoon show La Mesa Caliente. Telemundo’s afternoon showwhich in recent months has undergone significant changes in its panel.

But the surprise does not end there. Another figure that will make the leap from the panel of La Casa de los Famosos 6 to the show business program is the controversial Colombian Yina Calderón. The DJ and businesswoman publicly celebrated this new professional stage and even shared a video with People en Español to thank her for the opportunity.

The arrival of Cantoral and Calderón represents a bid to refresh the program’s dynamics. Itatí, remembered for her iconic character that popularized the phrase “Maldita lisiada” (Damn crippled), brings a solid background in television, theater and melodrama. Her presence could add acting experience and a critical vision from the world of entertainment.

Yina Calderón arrives with a different profile: irreverent, frontal and with a strong presence in social networks. Her direct style promises to generate debate and conversation in a space that is characterized by analyzing current affairs, entertainment and pop culture.

Both will join the team together with Veronica Bastos y Andrea Mezathus consolidating a new stage in the program. The big question is whether their participation will be permanent or if it is a transition stage after the recent departures.

Two weeks ago, People en Espanol confirmed that Giselle Blondet was leaving the show. Her departure came just four months after the dismissal of Myrka Dellanoswho was the first to announce her decision.

At the time, Dellanos explained that when she was invited to join in 2022, she was told that they were looking for her “conservative voice” and her perspective as a journalist. As she explained, her main role was to lead the first news block with balance and then give way to the debate with her colleagues.

These moves generated speculation among the audience about the editorial direction and style of the program, which since its premiere has distinguished itself by combining information and opinion in a dynamic format.

With the addition of Itatí Cantoral and Yina Calderón, La Mesa Caliente seeks to balance experience, controversy and freshness. The audience will determine whether this new lineup manages to consolidate and maintain interest in a period of transformation for the popular entertainment program.
