Mexico’s Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, announced this Friday the arrest of a subject related to the crimes of femicide, robbery and misappropriation of resources, whom he described as “one of the most wanted” by U.S. authorities.
García Harfuch detailed that Gabriel ‘N’ was arrested in an operation carried out by the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) of the Mexican Attorney General’s Office (FGR), in the state of Guerrero (south).
“Gabriel ‘N’, who has an extradition order and is one of the most wanted by U.S. authorities because he is related to a femicide, robbery and improperly disposing of resources and values of customers of credit institutions,” said the head of the SSPC, in a message on X, accompanied by two images of the arrest.
One of the images shared by authorities shows that Gabriel ‘N’ had extradition warrant 48/2024.

In a joint statement, the SSPC detailed that the operation was carried out in coordination with agents from the AIC of the FGR, the Secretariat of National Defense (Defensa), the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar) and the National Guard (GN).
It was noted that the arrest was the result of coordinated efforts to detain perpetrators of violence.
“As a result of international cooperation, it was learned that the Barrio de San José neighborhood, in the municipality of Ometepec, was the area of mobility of a subject who had an extradition order and is one of the most wanted by U.S. authorities,” the bulletin said.
The Mexican authorities stated that the arrest was in response to charges related to “femicide, robbery and improper disposal of funds or securities belonging to clients of credit institutions.
The SSPC reported last August 12 more than 29,000 arrests in Mexico for high-impact crimes since October 1, 2024, when the administration of Claudia Sheinbaum, who took office after a record of more than 196,000 murders in the government of her predecessor and co-partisan, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (2018-2024), began, reported Agencia EFE.
