The series ‘Elle,’ the prequel to the movie ‘Legally Blonde,’ produced by Hello Sunshine and Amazon MGM Studios, will premiere July 1 worldwide and will have a second season, the streaming platform has announced.
Hello Sunshine is the production company created by Reese Witherspoon, who starred in the original film 25 years ago.
“Twenty-five years after the world first met Elle Woods, it’s a dream come true to share the story of how she became the unstoppable force we all fell in love with,” notes Witherspoon in a release from Amazon MGM Studios.

The series follows Elle Woods through her high school years and chronicles the life experiences that made her the star of the movie ‘Legally Blonde’ which, in turn, would make Reese Whiterspoon a global star.
“Discovering Lexi Minetree and watching her step into the shoes of Elle has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my career,” he adds. I believe the themes the series deals with, such as kindness, authenticity and self-confidence, will connect deeply with both fans of the original films and new audiences.”

The cast of the first season features actress Lexi Minetree as Elle Woods, June Diane Raphael as Eva – Elle’s mother – and Tom Everett Scott as Wyatt – her father. The cast also includes Gabrielle Policano, Jacob Moskovitz, Chandler Kinney and Zac Looker, reported Agencia EFE.
