Premio Lo Nuestro’: Romeo Santos and Prince Royce join the ceremony

Bachata singers Romeo Santos and Prince Royce will sing at the ‘Premio lo nuestro’ ceremony on February 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami, where the best of Latin music will be recognized, TelevisaUnivision announced Wednesday.

The ‘king’ and the ‘prince’ of bachata, respectively, will sing a mix of their most recent hits included in their joint album ‘Better Late Than Never’ in “a night dedicated to the rhythms of the Caribbean,” the media company said in a statement.

These artists are joined by Colombian vallenato singer Silvestre Dangond, who will sing for the first time on television ‘Una vaina bien’ with Sebastián Yatra.

On the other hand, pianist and composer Arthur Hanlon will participate as part of the special musical recognition to the Spanish Paloma San Basilio, who will receive the ‘Lo Nuestro Award for Excellence’.

Also, Puerto Rican Lunay will present her new single ‘Ojalá’, while Panamanian star Sech will perform her hit ‘Novia no’.

This is the fifth batch of artists announced by the Spanish-language network, which in recent weeks presented Mexicans Carín León, Cristian Castro, Gloria Trevi and Thalía, Colombian Maluma and Puerto Rican Kany García as some of the stars of the ceremony at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

Also performing will be Café Quijano, Codiciado, Eladio Carrión, Elena Rose, Gangsta, Gente de Zona, Ha*Ash, J Balvin, Jay Wheeler, Jhayco, Juanes, Kapo, KYBBA, Los Bukis, Maluma, MAR, Marc Anthony, María Becerra, María José, Matisse, Mau y Ricky, Melody, Mora, Nathy Peluso, Santos Bravos, Sofía Reyes Xavi and Yami Safdie, among others.

The ceremony, which will be broadcast at 19:00 Eastern Time (00:00 GMT) from the Kaseya Center in Miami, recognizes the best of Latin music in 44 categories.

This year, Puerto Rican artists Bad Bunny, Myke Towers and Rauw Alejandro, and Mexico’s Carín León, with ten nominations each, followed by Beéle, Fuerza Regida and Karol G, with eight nominations.

Meanwhile, Arcángel, Juanes, Los Bukis (a group co-founded by Marco Antonio Solís), Manolo Díaz and Paloma San Basilio will receive special awards in recognition of their careers and legacy, reported Agencia EFE.
