Premios Lo Nuestro’ Nominations Announced: Bad Bunny and Rauw Alejandro Lead the Way

The nominations for Premios Lo Nuestro have been announced.

Puerto Rican artists Bad Bunny, Myke Towers and Rauw Alejandro, and Mexican singer Carín León lead the nominations for the ‘Premio lo nuestro’, with ten each, for the gala to be held on February 19 in Miami, Univision reported Tuesday.

The Hispanic network, organizer of the awards, announced the nominees for the awards that recognize the artists, songs and albums “that are shaping the direction of Latin music in multiple genres, including pop and urban.

Bad Bunny, one of the artists of the moment who will star in this year’s Superbowl halftime show, is one of the ten candidates to win in the ‘Artist of the Year’ category, along with Beéle, Carín León, Fuerza Regida, Karol G, Maluma, Marc Anthony, Rauw Alejandro, Romeo Santos, Shakira.

In best song the nominated songs are ‘Desde hoy’ by Natti Natasha; ‘DTMF’ by Bad Bunny; ‘El amor de mi herida’ by Carín León; ‘Imagínate’ by Danny Ocean & Kapo; ‘Khé?’ by Rauw Alejandro and Romeo Santos; ‘Latina foreva’ by Karol G; ‘Me jalo’ by Fuerza Regida and Grupo Frontera; ‘No me sé rajar’ by Alejandro Fernández; ‘Otra noche (feat. Darell)’ by Myke Towers and Darell, and ‘Soltera’ by Shakira.

While the award for album of the year is competed by ‘¿Y ahora qué +?’, by Alejandro Sanz; ‘111Xpantia’, by Fuerza Regida; ‘Babylon Club’, by Danny Ocean; ‘Cosa nuestra’, by Rauw Alejandro; ‘Debí tirar más fotos’, by Bad Bunny; ‘Eterno’, by Prince Royce; ‘Island Boyz’, by Myke Towers; ‘La ciudad’, by Alleh & Yorghaki; ‘Palabra de to’s (Seca)’, by Carín León; and ‘Tropicoqueta’, by Karol G.

Bad Bunny, Myke Towers, Rauw Alejandro and Carín León accumulate the highest number of nominations, with ten nominations each, followed by Beéle, Fuerza Regida and Karol G, with eight.

“This year’s nominations span 44 categories, underscoring the global impact and diversity of Latin music,” the organization said.

Emerging male and female artists include names such as Alleh, Aria Bela, Camila Fernandez, Yeri Mua and Zoe Gotusso, among others.

In pop, the nominees include prominent names such as Alejandro Sanz, Shakira, Sebastián Yatra, Camilo, Aitana and Morat.

In the Mexican Music category, several of the genre’s most important forces are represented throughout the nominations, including Alejandro Fernández, Christian Nodal, Carín León, Fuerza Regida, Grupo Frontera, Yuridia and Xavi, who received seven nominations.

Voting will be open to the public until January 26, while the gala will be held on February 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

The event will serve to pay tribute to the origins “and the cultural force that unites generations, genres and borders,” reported Agencia EFE.
