Sometimes, life puts us in front of a wall that seems insurmountable: the famous “midlife crisis.” It’s not just a number on the calendar; it’s that feeling of mental fog, anxiety and a loss of identity that makes us wonder, “Is this it?”. HERE you can listen to the podcast.

For Yesenia Bello, this stage was not the end, but the catalyst for a spiritual and personal “glow up” that she shares with the world today in episode 27 of her podcast Mujeres Create to help you overcome the midlife crisis.

Yesenia Bello is not an improvised voice.

With a stellar track record in the U.S. media industry, where he achieved corporate and financial success that many would envy, he decided to make a 180-degree turn when he felt his career no longer vibrated with his purpose.

Today she uses her experience to guide other women to reclaim their power.

In this installment titled “Women, Let’s Glow Up,” she opens her heart about her own four-year process to come out of the darkness and reclaim joy.

1. Therapy: The end of the taboo in our community

The first step, and perhaps the bravest, was to seek professional help.

Yesenia is emphatic: “As women of color, these issues are often taboo; we are ashamed to admit that we need therapy.”

For her, having the support of her therapist was instrumental in understanding that the pain came not only from her present (a hysterectomy and separation), but from childhood wounds and blockages she had been carrying for years.

Therapy allowed her to look at her life without filters and understand where she was stuck.

2. Deconstruct your identity: Who are you really?

What happens when the pillars that define you collapse?

Yesenia Bello had to face difficult questions: Am I still a woman if I no longer have a uterus? Who am I if I no longer work in a large corporation? How do I present myself to the world if I am no longer “the wife of”?

This step consists of understanding that your value does not lie in your position, your marital status or how many children you have.

“You are a beautiful soul destined to evolve,” she says, inviting us to let go of those social labels that only create weight.

3. Decentralizing romantic love

This point may be controversial, but it is vital.

Yesenia Bello suggests that, from an early age, we are taught to put all our energy into finding or keeping a partner, neglecting our own needs.

By centralizing self-love, we recover an amazing amount of energy that we can use to heal, grow and nurture other forgotten relationships, such as deep friendships and self-relationships.

4. The balance of energies: Male vs. Female

Yesenia explains that many of us grow up seeing women who do it all alone (the lineage of resilient matriarchs), which forces us to live purely in our masculine energy: that of providing, protecting and solving.

The real “Glow Up” comes when we embrace our feminine energy: intuition, creativity, knowing how to receive and just being without having to prove anything.

“We are resilient, but that doesn’t mean we have to do it all alone.”

5. Letting go of Perfectionism: The Key to Freedom

Finally, Yesenia asks us to let go of the burden of wanting to be perfect at work, in motherhood and even in appearance.

Perfectionism blocks joy and creativity.

By embracing imperfection and chaos, we allow peace to re-enter our lives.

“I’ve learned to let God surprise me and not let a small detail ruin my day,” she concludes.

What about you, Onnda, are you ready for your own rebirth?

The midlife crisis is not a pit, it is a launching pad.
