Spanish singer Rosalía dazzled with her voice and her ‘Lux’ at the BRIT Awards 2026 gala in Manchester, where she was proclaimed International Artist of the Year in an evening dominated by England’s Olivia Dean, who won four statuettes and won in the two main categories: British Artist and Album of the Year.
The Catalan performer made her debut at the UK’s most important music event in style, as in addition to lifting the amber Britannia statuette, after beating names such as Puerto Rican Bad Bunny, Taylor Swift and Lady Gaga, among others, she also starred in one of the most memorable performances of the night.
Rosalía took to the stage for the first time at the Co-Op Live in Manchester and performed a rave version of her song ‘Berghain’ for the first time live and accompanied by an orchestra, dancers and with the stellar appearance of Iceland’s Björk left the whole stadium open-mouthed and whetted the appetite ahead of the world tour that will start in March.

In accepting the International Artist of the Year award, the Catalan said it was an honor to be able to take her music outside of her home, thanked the rest of her industry peers who “make music in Spanish” and asked to continue celebrating “different cultures and different languages”.
With her charisma and her easy-going attitude, Rosalía finished getting the audience in her pocket when the master of ceremonies, the comedian Jack Whitehall, approached her and asked her how many languages she had included in her latest album, ‘Lux’, and she answered: “The million dollar question. Thirteen or fourteen, I don’t know anymore.”
Then, the presenter invited her to include one more language, the Mancunian (from Manchester) in her next work and she replied with a “Sunshine” in the style of Liam Gallagher, and then declared herself an unconditional follower of Oasis.

Liam was not there, but Noel was, reported Agencia EFE, who received the Composer of the Year award in his hometown and also received a video thank-you from the coach of his Manchester City team, Catalan Pep Guardiola.
