The San Antonio Spurs crushed the Philadelphia 76ers 91-131 on Tuesday to avenge Sunday’s loss at Madison Square Garden, which ended their best streak in more than a decade.
It was an absolute victory for San Antonio, which dominated the game from start to finish and had a maximum lead of 49 points at the end of the third quarter.
Wembanyama dominates on defense

Victor Wembanyama missed the opening jumper, but made amends with a block on Andre Drummond on the first possession of the game.
For the Frenchman, it was the first of his six blocks tonight in Philadelphia.
Wembanyama only scored 10 points, but caught 8 rebounds, dished out 4 assists, stole 3 balls and put up those 6 blocks for a +41 differential for the Spurs while he was on the court.
The San Antonio Spurs were led by Devin Vassell (6 of 8 three-pointers) and rookie Dylan Harper with 22 points each.
With Mitch Johnson’s team playing an increasingly important role. In addition, Stephon Castle finished with 15 points and 10 assists.
Consolidate second place in the West

With scores of 46-28 in the second quarter and 35-11 in the third, the San Antonio Spurs dispelled any doubts that might have been left by their game against the New York Knicks (114-89) with this win over the 76ers.
The Spurs were coming into the Garden with 11 straight wins, their best streak since 2015.
Now, with a 44-17 record, they are in second place in the West, behind the Oklahoma City Thunder (48-15).
After four wins (Detroit, Toronto, Brooklyn and Philadelphia) on a five-game road trip, Victor Wembanyama and company return to San Antonio for their next six games.
