Santana breaks silence and supports Bad Bunny at the Super Bowl

Mexican-American guitarist Carlos Santana denied that he had criticized Bad Bunny’s upcoming Super Bowl halftime appearance by denouncing that publications “fabricated” with artificial intelligence (AI) are circulating.

“We live in a time of fear, division, separation, superiority and inferiority. Fear is the flavor right now. Fear is what motivates ignorant people to put words in my mouth, saying that I didn’t want Bad Bunny to be in the Super Bowl. I never said that, nor would I say that,” Santana wrote on Facebook.

His statement comes after a false statement of the artist, allegedly generated with AI, was disseminated on social networks.

Who credited him with saying that Bad Bunny’s choice of Bad Bunny to sing at halftime “is an insult to American music.”

“You bring a man in a dress to the Super Bowl? Then don’t call it soccer, call it a circus,” the now disproven statement read.

The 78-year-old artist, born in the Mexican state of Jalisco, said that in recent months he has been “trolled” with “false publications on his social networks”.

“AI has accelerated the dispersion of disinformation, making it harder for the truth to emerge through the noise.”

“Do not trust random or unverified posts, even well-intentioned media can be misled,” the artist’s manager, Michael Vrionis, expounded in the statement on Facebook.

The controversy comes amidst the backlash Bad Bunny has drawn from conservatives in the MAGA (Make America Great Again) movement.
