The Seattle Seahawks came from 16 points down in the fourth quarter to beat the Los Angeles Rams 38-37 in overtime and drop out of the top spot in the National Football Conference (NFC) as Week 16 of the NFL season began.
The Seahawks qualified for the playoffs with 12 wins and three losses, leaving them at the top of the NFC West division, where they are now number one, a position they will retain if they beat the Panthers and 49ers in their last two games. The Rams, with a record of 11-4, are already qualified and are second in the West and in the NFC.
Duel of quarterbacks and offensive stars

With Seattle Seahawks, Sam Darnold passed for 270 yards and two touchdowns, was intercepted twice.
For the Rams, Matthew Stafford had 457 yards passing and three touchdown catches.
He reached 40 touchdown passes on the campaign.
Along with Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers, he is the trio of quarterbacks with at least three seasons with four dozen completions.
Puka Nacua also had 225 yards per reception and two touchdowns.
The Rams dominated the first half thanks to their ground attack.
They took a 7-13 lead on a pair of Jason Myers field goals and a pass to the diagonals caught by Terrance Ferguson,
The home team scored with a Zach Charbonnet touchdown on the ground.
Seahawks’ key reaction in the second half of the season

Seahawks kicked off the third quarter explosively with a 55-yard run by Kenneth Walker into the end zone to regain the lead 14-13.
Dominance erased immediately via Mevis’ third field goal of the game to regain the lead 14-16.
The Los Angeles defense helped sustain the momentum with an interception by Josh Wallace.
That left the offense in position to pull away 14-23 with a Blake Corum carry.
The Rams maintained their dominance in the final period with a Puka Nacua touchdown reception that put them up 14-30.
But the Seahawks responded 22-30 via their special teams thanks to a 58-yard touchdown return by Rashid Shaheed.
Dramatic ending and epic comeback

The home team came back and tied the game 30-30 with a reception in the painted area by AJ Barner plus the two-point conversion, a score that sent the game into overtime.
In the extra period, Los Angeles pulled away 30-37 with Puka Nacua’s second touchdown reception of the game.
At their turn, Seattle Seahawks pulled within 36-37 on a pass to Jaxon Smith-Njigba and won in dramatic fashion with the two-point conversion 38-37.
