The artist, known for reinventing herself in each presentation, included in her repertoire a tribute to Javier Solís, one of the greatest exponents of ranchera music.

The Hips Don’t Lie singer appeared on stage wearing a traditional Mexican outfit and a wide-brimmed hat.

A tribute from Shakira with personal dedication

Beyond the tribute to Javier Solis, the performance became even more personal when Shakira revealed that the song was dedicated to her father, William Mebarak, who is in delicate health.

On stage, he remembered Mebarak as his great inspiration in life and reiterated the affection and admiration he feels for him.

In recent interviews, Shakira has described her father as “her hero” and the figure that drives her to continue creating.

Although her international schedule is demanding, the singer tries to stay on top of her recovery and dedicates a good part of her achievements to her family. This gesture in Mexico was seen as a way to publicly share her devotion and gratitude to him.
