Shakira to have a stadium built in Spain to close her tour!

¿Será que no quiso presentarse en el Bernabeú porque así se apellida de su suegra?

Shakira has once again ‘broken’ the internet and, incidentally, the rules of the music industry. After congregating a record 400,000 people in Mexico’s Zócalo, Shakira announced that the grand finale of her world tour ‘Women Don’t Cry Anymore’ will be in Madrid, but with a ‘condition’ that only a legend like her could impose: Spain will build an exclusive stadium for Shakira.

The last name of discord?

Although the official announcement focuses on an “otherworldly” production never before seen in Spain, social networks have exploded with a theory that sounds like poetic justice.

While other artists are fighting to fill the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, Shakira seems to have said: “No, mi ciela”.

The rumor that runs like wildfire among the “Shakirifans” is that the she-wolf has no intention of appearing 10 times in a stadium that bears the surname of her former mother-in-law, Montserrat Bernabéu.

“Build me a stadium and name it after me, please,” is the rallying cry that floods X (formerly Twitter), celebrating the fact that the singer prefers to create her own Shakira Stadium rather than cede a millimeter to the memories of her past in Barcelona.

An Adele-style residence

In an exclusive interview for RTVE‘s ‘Al cielo con ella’ program, Shakira confirmed that this residency in Madrid will be the highlight of her tour.

“It will be something out of this world, a production that has not been seen before in Spain,” said the artist.

In the style of what Adele did in Munich, this ephemeral and customized venue will allow the Colombian singer to offer an immersive experience for “more than two days” of concerts.

The triumphant return to the land that saw her suffer

Spain has always been a land of mixed emotions for the singer.

After her mediatic separation from Gerard Piqué and her legal battles with the tax authorities, returning to the country is an act of resilience.

“My Spanish audience has given me so much that that relationship is unbreakable,” she recently told GQ.

With this announcement, Shakira not only returns to reconnect with her fans in Madrid and Barcelona, but does so by demonstrating who has the absolute power on the global pop board.

She doesn’t need a borrowed stadium; she is the stadium.
