The event, called Viva Mexico 250, took place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, in front of thousands of fans who packed the stands to witness the debut of the most important championship of American motorsports in Mexico.

Shane van Gisbergen, New Zealander driver of Trackhouse Racing, was the main protagonist by winning his first victory of the season. With this victory he secured his place in the playoffs, after an impeccable performance on the track, managing better than anyone the variable conditions and the tense moments of the competition.

He briefly led from lap 20, unleashing the excitement of the fans, who chanted his name from the grandstands.

The Trackhouse Racing driver remained inside the top 10 during the first part of the competition.

However, in the final stages, after a series of technical adjustments in the pits and the wear and tear of the car, he lost pace against better positioned rivals and finished in 19th place.

Despite this, his presence was key to connect with the local public, who appreciated his effort and dedication.
