The Mexican dubbing industry experienced a day of deep sadness on Monday, November 24, after the death of Gabriela Michel, an outstanding dubbing actress, voice-over artist and widely respected figure in the industry, was confirmed. The death occurred around 7:00 a.m., according to several media reports, and the news quickly spread through social networks, generating commotion among colleagues, fans and specialists in Latin American dubbing.

Although the news began to circulate in the morning, it was not until the evening that his daughter, actress Aislinn Derbez, publicly confirmed the unfortunate loss.

Through a message on Instagram, the star of A la mala and La casa de las flores shared a text full of emotion and gratitude: “I thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the love I have received. It is with deep sadness that I share that my mom passed away due to a heart attack. The Asociación Nacional de Intérpretes (ANDI) also issued an official message on social networks to bid farewell to the actress, highlighting her important contribution to television and dubbing in Mexico.

In their publication they wrote: “The Asociación Nacional de Intérpretes announces the sad passing of our interpreter member Gabriela Michel. Mexican actress with an extensive career in television and the world of dubbing, her voice allowed characters such as Samantha Jones from Sex and the City to be heard in Spanish”.

The agency offered condolences to his family and recalled his legacy in the industry.

Gabriela Michel was part of the Latin American dubbing universe with performances in productions such as “Santa Clause”, “Tinker Bell”, TV series and numerous programs.
