Colombian soccer player Luis Díaz, Bayern Munich’s star player, this time did not surprise his fans with a pass, a goal or a feint, but with ‘La promesa’ (The promise), a song he released as thanks for the moment he is living on and off the field.

“Today I close this 2025 with gratitude. To God, for guiding every step, for giving me strength when the road became uphill and for never letting go, even when everything seemed impossible. To my family, thank you from the bottom of my heart. For always being there, in the sacrifices, in the difficult moments and in every dream that seemed far away,” Diaz wrote on Instagram.

The striker – who made 58 appearances for Liverpool, Bayern Munich and the Colombia national team this year, scoring 24 goals and providing 13 assists – added that the song “comes from the depths of his heart, from the most sincere gratitude”.

“It is the result of a long road of faith, work and love. A path where God has worked and where my family has fought with me and for me. Everything I am and everything I have today is thanks to this,” added the striker.

For this song, which is the debut of an artistic career in which in 2024 he had already sung several verses of the song ‘El ritmo que nos une’, by reguetonero Ryan Castro, Diaz teamed up with Colombian singers Juanda Iriarte and Nelsen.

The song – which has the rhythmic base of the champeta, a traditional rhythm of the Colombian Caribbean – was premiered with a video clip recorded in Barrancas, the town in the department of La Guajira where Díaz is from, and in it the soccer player highlights his career and the process he went through to become a star.

The video also features clips of the player wearing the jerseys of Barranquilla, the Colombian second division club where he made his debut; Junior, the team of his love; Oporto, his first international experience; Liverpool, where he won five titles; and Bayern Munich, where he currently shines, reported Agencia EFE.
